Engagement photos you will actually use
An engagement session is a couple photoshoot with a job to do, so we plan the frames you will need later:
- The ring in close-up, on your hands, with Paris behind it
- Full-length photos in your best outfits for the wedding website
- Wide shots with open sky or stone for the text of your save-the-date
- Laughing, walking, not looking at the camera, for the frame on the wall
Your Paris engagement session
Most couples take two hours, with two outfits. We meet on Avenue de Camoëns for the Eiffel Tower, walk down to Bir-Hakeim and the quays, and finish in the Louvre courtyard or Montmartre. You change in a café between the two parts, and we keep the route short so no time is lost.

What to wear for engagement photos in Paris
- One dressed-up look and one relaxed look give you two different sets of photos.
- Plain colors and soft textures work better than prints and logos.
- Bring shoes for walking and change into the nice ones at each stop.
- Coordinate your colors, do not match them.
For something special, rent a gown with our dress rental in Paris or book a flying dress photoshoot. Hair and makeup can be arranged as an optional extra, with an artist available on your date.
When to plan it in your trip
If possible, leave a night between arriving in Paris and your photoshoot. It gives you time to settle in and get your outfits ready.
An earlier date in your trip may give you more options if the weather means changing the plan. Any new time will depend on availability, so discuss this with us when booking.
Morning often works well for fewer people at busy locations. If you want the Eiffel Tower lit up, plan a session that continues after nightfall. We can help choose the start time for your date.

Engagement photoshoot: questions
How much does an engagement photoshoot in Paris cost?
Every length and its price is on our prices page. Most engagement sessions are two hours, which allows two outfits and two areas of the city.
What should we wear for engagement photos in Paris?
One dressed-up and one relaxed look, plain colors, and shoes you can walk in. Send us your outfits before the trip and we will tell you how they will look.
What colors photograph best for engagement photos?
Soft neutrals, pastels and deep plain colors like navy or burgundy. They stand out against pale Paris stone. Avoid neon, big logos and busy prints.
Where are the most romantic places for engagement photos in Paris?
Avenue de Camoëns and Bir-Hakeim for the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre courtyard, Pont des Arts and the steps of Montmartre. We combine two or three of them on one route.
Can I wear my wedding dress for a pre-wedding shoot in Paris?
Yes. We plan an early morning route with empty streets, so the dress stays clean and the photos stay calm. More on our Paris pre-wedding photoshoot page.
Should we get hair and makeup done professionally?
It helps for engagement photos, especially if they will be printed. We can arrange a professional hair and makeup artist, subject to availability. This is an optional extra.
How soon will we get the photos for our save-the-dates?
Within one week. Express editing in 24 to 48 hours is available if your deadline is close.
