Eiffel Tower photo spots on our route

Every spot below is on one walking route, so a one-hour session covers three or four of them without wasting time in taxis.

  • Avenue de Camoëns. Our meeting point. A quiet residential street with the tower framed between Haussmann buildings, calm even at midday.
  • The stairs below Camoëns. Stone steps and iron railings, the tower above you. Good for full-length photos and a dress that moves.
  • Trocadéro. The famous wide view, at its best at sunrise when the esplanade is still empty. We do not shoot it in the evening, it is too crowded for a private session.
  • Bir-Hakeim bridge. The iron arches and the tower across the river.
  • Passerelle Debilly. A footbridge over the Seine, with the tower close enough to fill the frame.
  • Rue de l’Université. The tower at the end of a classic Parisian street, the shot everyone saves on Pinterest.
  • Champ de Mars. Lawns and trees right below the tower, relaxed and green.

Staying at the Plaza Athénée or another hotel with a tower view? We can start the session right at your hotel and walk to the river from there.

Want more than the tower? Combine it with the Seine and old Paris in a Paris couple photoshoot.

Best time for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot

  • Sunrise. Empty streets and soft light, the only time Trocadéro is worth it.
  • Daytime. Busier, but Camoëns and the side streets stay calm, so it still works.
  • Before sunset. Warm light on the stone. Start 20 to 25 minutes before sunset and you get daylight first and the lit tower in the same hour.
  • The lit tower. The lights come on 20 to 25 minutes after sunset and the tower sparkles for five minutes every hour. Our evening route goes Camoëns, the stairs, the quay at Pont d’Iéna and Bir-Hakeim. See our night photoshoot in Paris.

On 14 July the area around the tower is closed off from the afternoon for the fireworks, so on that day we shoot in the morning only.

Ten frames from one gallery

All ten photos come from the same session by the tower, so you can see what a whole gallery looks like, not just one lucky frame.

Couples, families, solo, proposals

Couples. The most booked session at the tower. See our Eiffel Tower couple photoshoot.

Families. Short stops, plenty of room for children to run on the Champ de Mars. See our Paris family photographer page.

Solo. A birthday, a first trip alone or new photos for your profile, often with a flying dress.

Proposals. A hidden photographer and a plan for the moment. See our Eiffel Tower proposal page.

A rooftop with the tower view

For couples who want the tower to themselves, we can add a private rooftop to your session as an extra. The most popular version starts before sunset: warm light first, then the tower lights up while you are still up there.

Night photoshoot in Paris

Paris after dark is a different city: the lit Eiffel Tower, reflections on the Seine and warm light from café terraces. Our evening route goes Avenue de Camoëns, the stairs, the quay at Pont d’Iéna and Bir-Hakeim, timed so you are in place when the tower sparkles. We never plan the Trocadéro at night, it is too crowded.

Eiffel Tower photoshoot: questions

How much is an Eiffel Tower photoshoot?

Every length, from a short session by the tower to three hours across Paris, is on our prices page, with what each one includes.

Do I need a permit for a photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower?

No. A private photoshoot in the streets, bridges and parks around the tower needs no permit. Permits are only for commercial productions with crews and equipment.

Is it illegal to photograph the Eiffel Tower at night?

No. Personal photos of the lit tower are fine. The lighting design is protected for commercial use, which does not apply to your private photos.

What is the best time for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot?

Sunrise for empty streets, or 20 to 25 minutes before sunset if you want warm light and the lit tower in the same hour.

How do you keep crowds out of the photos?

We choose spots that stay quiet, like Avenue de Camoëns and the side streets, avoid Trocadéro after the morning, and time each frame between passers-by.

Can we book a short session just at the Eiffel Tower?

Yes, a one-hour session covers three or four spots around the tower. Tell us your dates and we will suggest the best hour.

What should we wear for an Eiffel Tower photoshoot?

Plain colours that stand out against pale stone, and shoes you can walk in. A long dress looks beautiful on the stairs and the bridges. If you want something special, try our dress rental in Paris.
